SMS and Notifications

This guide explains how SMS works in Xolapp: viewing usage, purchasing add-on packs, and checking your SMS history. It is for owners and admins. SMS is used for appointment reminders and other notifications when enabled in Settings.

Where to find SMS

Location: SMS & Notifications in the main menu (under Business). You may see SMS Usage, Purchase, and History as tabs or separate links.

SMS Usage

On the SMS Usage (or main SMS) page you can:

  • View your monthly limit and how many SMS you have used this month.
  • See remaining balance including any add-on packs you have purchased.
  • Track usage over time so you know when to buy more credits.

If you are near or at your limit, you will see an alert. Purchase an add-on pack to keep sending reminders and notifications.

Purchasing SMS Credits

When your plan includes a limited number of SMS per month and you need more, you can purchase add-on packs.

  1. Go to SMS & Notifications (or SMS Usage).
  2. Click Purchase or Buy SMS (or open the Purchase tab).
  3. Choose the pack size (e.g. 50, 100, 500 SMS).
  4. Complete the purchase. The charge goes to your billing payment method. Your SMS balance is updated after payment.

Add-on credits are used after your monthly allowance. They may roll over depending on your plan; check the usage page for details.

SMS History

View a log of SMS messages sent from your account.

  • Location: SMS & Notifications → History (or SMS History).
  • What you see: Date, recipient (phone number), message type (e.g. reminder), and status. Use this to confirm deliveries or troubleshoot.

Enabling SMS for Reminders

SMS is used for appointment and other notifications when enabled and configured in Settings.

  • Appointment reminders: In Settings → Appointments, enable reminders and choose email and/or SMS if your plan supports it.
  • Other notifications: Check Settings for options to send SMS for confirmations, cancellations, or other events.

Your SMS balance is used each time an SMS is sent. Keep enough credits so reminders and notifications can be delivered.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I see how many SMS I have left?

Go to SMS & Notifications (or SMS Usage). The main view shows your monthly limit, used count, and remaining balance (including add-on packs).

How do I buy more SMS?

Open SMS & Notifications and use Purchase or Buy SMS. Select a pack size and complete payment. The charge appears on your Billing page.

Why are my reminders not sending by SMS?

Check that (1) appointment reminders are enabled in Settings → Appointments, (2) SMS is selected as a delivery method if there is an option, (3) the client has a valid mobile number, and (4) you have SMS credits remaining. Check SMS & Notifications → History to see if messages were sent or failed.

Where do I see past SMS messages?

Go to SMS & Notifications → History (or SMS History). You can see when messages were sent, to which number, and their status.
