Understanding Time Periods in Analytics

This article explains how time periods work in Xolapp analytics. It is for anyone who uses the dashboard and wants to compare performance across different periods.

All analytics in Xolapp can be filtered by time period. This allows you to analyze performance for specific time ranges and compare periods to track growth.

Available Periods

📅 Today

Shows data for the current day only (00:00 to 23:59).

Best for: Daily monitoring, real-time tracking, today's performance

📆 This Week

Shows data for the current week (Sunday to Saturday).

Best for: Weekly trends, short-term analysis, weekly reviews

📊 This Month

Shows data for the current calendar month (1st to last day).

Best for: Monthly performance, standard reporting, monthly goals

📈 Last Month

Shows data for the previous calendar month.

Best for: Month-over-month comparison, historical analysis, trend tracking

How Period Selection Works

1. Select Period: Use the period selector at the top of Dashboard or Analytics page
2. Data Filters: All analytics automatically filter to show only data from selected period
3. Widgets Update: All dashboard widgets respect the period selection and update automatically
4. Comparisons: Some widgets automatically show comparisons with previous period
5. Charts Update: All charts and graphs update to reflect selected period

Frequently asked questions

What time periods can I select?

You can choose Today, This Week, This Month, or Last Month. The selector is usually at the top of the Dashboard. All analytics sections and widgets use the selected period.

Does changing the period affect every section?

Yes. When you change the period, all dashboard analytics sections and widgets update to show data for that period. There is no per-section period override.

What is the default period?

The dashboard often defaults to "This Month" so you can track monthly performance. You can switch to Today, This Week, or Last Month anytime to compare or focus on a different range.
